Earlier this month, various news sources like New York Magazine and The Huffington Post have been announcing that hipster clothing company Urban Outfitters plans to launch a new line of bridal wear for all the twenty-something “bridesters” out there.
Although I’ve read varying reports that the line is due out this year or next, it’s confirmed that the line with offer not only dresses for both bride and bridesmaid, but accessories, shoes, jewelry, and even invitations. Prices for gowns will range from $1000-$5000.
I don’t know how I feel about this; although I admit to shopping at UO from time to time, I feel like I would be slightly embarrassed to admit that my wedding dress came from there, for reasons I cannot explain. However, the dresses will be designed by the team at Anthropologie — and I do love Anthropologie.
Well, I suppose, for the pretentious hipster with no pretentions about being a pretentious hipster, UO is making it easy for all your shopping to be done in one place, without needing worry about whether the bridal choices you make will be cool or not.
(Do hipster use the word cool? Probably not.)
